The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA or ACT) was enacted into law to assist employees impacted by Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Effective April 1st, 2020, the Act requires private employers with fewer than 500 employees provide employees with paid sick time for qualifying reasons related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Larger employers with 500 or more employees are excluded from this component of the new law.
Each covered employer must post a notice explaining FFCRA requirements in a conspicuous place on its premises. Employers can satisfy notice requirements by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees or posting this notice on an employee information internal or external website.
