NYC Department of Health may ban smoking and vaping in outdoor dining areasThe NYC Department of Health wants to ban smoking and vaping in all outdoor dining areas.

Under current law, restaurants can allow guests to smoke tobacco and non-cannabis electronic cigarettes while dining outdoors, as long as the restaurant is compliant with Chapter 10 of Title 24 of the Rules of the City of New York.

According to a notice published earlier this week, DOH wants to amend the local law “to no longer allow smoking of tobacco and non-cannabis electronic cigarettes in outdoor dining areas.”

New Yorkers that would like to voice their thoughts on the proposal, can participate in a virtual public hearing on March 14th from 10am to 12 EST by following this link .
